About Kim

Life Through Art

Artist/Mom/Vet Wife when I'm not Paddle Boarding. I grew up in Rhode Island, now live in Hawaii surrounded by ocean beauty and it's incredible animals my whole life between the two places. In my "before kids life", I have a BS in Graphic Design immediately followed by teaching Graphic Design at a high school in Kailua. That was stressful at first but I learned I love teaching what I love! All my Art was put on hold while I embraced motherhood and survived deployments with an infant, toddler and two geriatric dogs! So Blessed for great friends and family to get me through those days. Since moving back to Hawaii with kids in 2010, we have planted retirement roots. I've been working with Mai Tais and Monet since 2013 and loved volunteering Art Lessons in my kids classes and painting with the military families at Fisher House, Tripler Army Hospital. Now, I'm finally focusing on my own art! 2020 has provided me with time to get my ideas and visions to you... Canvas, Digital, Watercolor, mixed media and a children's picture book. Phew! I was busy! I hope my work brings you joy and an appreciation for my art.

I'm drawn to graceful things, colorful things, whimsy, curious of all media.... When I work on a piece, it's an extension of me, like writing a song and then signing it. Idea to creation is so much a part of my daily life. Some people create art to live and I live to create art. If I don't do something creative weekly I'm out of sorts. The need to create and get my idea, emotions and visions out is a necessity. I would love to hear from you. You can message me at the envelope in the menu above.
